Using AA's Meeting Guide App: Check the Listing Before You Leave
You find a meeting on your phone, but the listing leaves a few questions: is it today, which entrance is used, and does the format suit you? Meeting Guide can help with the search. Treat the result as meeting information to read carefully, rather than a complete plan for getting there.
Start with the official app information
AA's Meeting Guide page links to the app and its support resources. Use that starting point when choosing a download; a similar name in a search result does not establish that another app is the same service.
Decide which place you are searching. Looking near home and looking near a future destination are different tasks. Check that the results refer to the place you intend to visit before comparing meeting times.
Read the whole meeting entry
Look beyond the name. Check the listed day, start time, address and any format or access notes. Open and closed meetings have different attendance purposes, so do not treat those labels as interchangeable.
If you are planning a journey, note the room or entrance instructions separately from the street address. A building may host several groups. Our clubhouse guide explains why the venue's name alone does not identify the meeting you want.
Confirm the detail that could prevent attendance
A holiday, an access need or an unfamiliar entrance may justify a direct enquiry. Ask the listed local resource a precise question rather than asking whether everything is “fine.” For example: is the step-free entrance available at this meeting's evening start time?
A listing cannot promise that a particular member will attend or that a particular coin will be available. Our guide to obtaining AA chips covers asking about recognition separately from finding the meeting.
Send corrections to the information provider
The app's listing-update guidance explains that local AA entities maintain meeting information. Use the relevant local contact to request a correction. Describe the meeting, the inaccurate field and what you have confirmed.
Do not expect a public comment elsewhere to update the listing. If you are a group member, agree who will notify the service entity when your room, time or contact changes. Avoid sending private member information as part of an ordinary listing correction.
Keep a usable backup
Save the practical details you will need during the journey, including an appropriate contact route. If the meeting cannot be confirmed, identify another current option before leaving. Do not assume every group in an area is represented in the app.
After your visit, keep what helped: the correct entrance, travel time and source of current information. You can use the app for discovery while still asking the group questions about its own arrangements. Neither downloading an app nor buying a token is a requirement for AA membership.
Medallions to consider
If you separately want an AA milestone keepsake, these are optional retail designs. The app's listing does not establish which designs a group stocks; choose the product's actual Sobriety Time option.

Tricolor Velvet Plum Ombre Sparkle (1-45y)
Annual options run from 1 Year to 45 Years. Choose the intended milestone in the Sobriety Time selector; the main photo shows a sample I inscription.

Tricolor Jade Green (24h, 1-65y)
Annual options run from 1 Year to 65 Years; 24 Hours and 18 Months options are also listed. Choose the intended milestone in the Sobriety Time selector; the main photo shows a sample XXIII inscription.
Common questions
Is Meeting Guide a paid membership service?
AA describes it as a free meeting-finder app. It is separate from buying literature or a retail keepsake.
Who changes an incorrect listing?
Contact the local AA service entity supplying the information, using the app's support guidance.
Does a listing confirm which chips a group gives?
No. Ask the group about its current milestone custom and availability.
